The Argentine club River Plate has released its full schedule for the initial phase of the Copa Sudamericana. The team will kick off the tournament with an away game against Blooming in Bolivia, and April will be a packed month with matches against strong opponents from Venezuela and Brazil.

Buenos Aires, March 24 (NA) – River Plate will begin its participation in the Copa Sudamericana 2026 on Wednesday, April 8, at 21:30 against Blooming in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, after CONMEBOL introduced a change to the schedule of the first round of the continental tournament. Initially, the debut of the Núñez-based team was scheduled for Thursday, April 9, but it was ultimately moved up one day, according to the Argentine News Agency. In this way, the team led by Eduardo Coudet will open its participation in Group H as a visitor, in a zone that also includes Carabobo from Venezuela and Red Bull Bragantino from Brazil. After the match against Blooming, River will return to the field on Wednesday, April 15, also at 21:30, when they host Carabobo at the Monumental stadium. They will then visit Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday, April 30, at 21:30, and later play in Venezuela against Carabobo on Thursday, May 7, at 22:30. In the closing of the group stage, the Argentine team will be local against Red Bull Bragantino on Wednesday, May 20, at 21:30, and will complete its schedule against Blooming, also at the Monumental, on Wednesday, May 27, at 21:30. Thus, River now has its complete schedule confirmed for the initial phase of the Sudamericana, with the first adjustment being the date of its debut and an April full of commitments between the continental tournament and the Apertura.
